A New Look for PeakRatio, and the One Line Behind It
For two months I have been trying to say what PeakRatio does in one line. This is it, and it is worth a few hundred words on why.
Most owner-led businesses are built around the owner
Most owner-led businesses run through one person. The owner. It is profitable, but it is heavy. Every real decision lands on their desk, half the important detail lives in their head, and if they stepped away for a month the business would wobble. That is not really owning a business. That is being the business.
A business built to sell is the opposite
A business built to sell runs without the owner in the middle of everything. It has clean numbers. It has systems and people that hold when the owner is not in the room. It is worth more, and the owner is not trapped inside it. Here is the part that matters most: you get all of that whether you ever sell or not. Most owners I meet do not actually want to sell. They want the option, and they want their evenings back. Building to that standard gets you both.
The one ratio that is off
My job is to find the one ratio that is off, the 20% that is holding back the 80%, and fix it. Whether you want to run it better, grow it, step back from it, or sell it well, the work starts in the same place: a proper read of where the value really sits, and what a serious buyer would actually pay for. Having sat on the buyer's side of the table, I know what that read looks for. In one business it restored £100k a year of profit inside four months. In another it added £400k of new revenue through repositioning.
Why the new look
Fifteen years sit behind this, inside fast-growing businesses, turnarounds and acquisitions. The new name and the new look are just a clearer way of saying what has always been true. Get the ratios right, and it runs itself.
If you want that read of your own business, the £1,495 + VAT diagnostic is the way in. It pays for itself, with savings identified inside 30 days, followed by a prioritised 90-day plan.
